The main courtyard in front of the Low Library was by far the busiest and most attractive space on Columbia’s campus. I particularly enjoyed the open space and green lawns along with such a beautifully constructed area, which served as a breather from the overwhelmingly urban expanses of Manhattan that surrounded the University.
