30 St. Mary Axe, also known as the Gherkin, in London was it's first effort toward taller green buildings.
Now that it is built, there are issues with some of the technologies, and it has been debated just how green it is.
It does not currently have the vegetative facade pictured but it is an attempt to increase its green standing.
The designer has recently started testing a facade that absorbs moisture from the air and suppurts plant life.
