Herb Brooks Arena - Nathan Ferraro

This is the ice rink in Herb Brooks Areana in Lake Placid, New York. This is the site of the Miracle on Ice where the US Olympic hockey team defeated the powerhouse USSR team in the semi-finals of the 1980 Winter Olympics. Many people often consider this event the greatest moment in sports history because it was about much more than a simple hockey game. It was an important statement during the Cold War. This space will surprise you. The arena is much smaller than you would expect. It's about half the size of Lloyd Nobel. Now, think back to the highlight that you may have seen of the game and the "USA" chants. This roar was created by only a couple thousand fans.
