How little we really know - Simon Ott

When I first read about Gobekli Tepe I was very facinated.  Found in Turkey in the 1960's, the structure was completely filled in and protected with sand.  Dated to approximately 9000 B.C. the structure predates Stonehenge by 6000 years.  The size of the monolithic stones, some 30' tall, and the carvings on them are very impressive especially considering the current belief is that it predates agriculture having been built in the Stone age.  It reminds me that no matter how much we think we know or how advanced we believe we are, we really know so little about how these ancient architectural structures were constructed and what knowledge we've lost over the centuries.
