The bird's nest in Beijing- Gabrielle Lockwood

I had the opportunity to travel to the 2008 Beijing Olympics to watch my stepmom compete in Women's basketball. Upon first sight I was really impressed by this building on the outside. However the inside was a different story. It was extremely hot! We attempted to watch the opening ceremony there but could not stay. There was absolutely zero air circulation. The building is beautiful but not very functional in the intensely warm Beijing climate... Thankfully it was torn down soon after the Olympics.
