This is a picture of one of the buildings on the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences campus (UAMS). The campus is made up of several health professional schools like medical, pharmacy, nursing, and public health and was built in the 1950s. I liked this side of the building with the glass windows covering the siding allowing for lots of natural light inside and I think it looks good. For the campus being over 60 years old I was surprised that it had some cool architecture to it.

My House-Taylor Johnson
This has been my home ever since I came into this world. It has been the place of a lot of ups and downs in my life. I count myself fortunate that I didn't have to move around a lot while I was young.
Main Street Revitalization - Simon Ott
My work over the last few years has involved restoring buildings along Main St in Shawnee. This particular building was for a client who is a dog trainer. We completely renovated the 1920's building on the interior, removed the 50's renovated front and built a new front out of reclaimed lumber obtained from support beams salvaged from a warehouse in Chicago. The design was inspired by several older storefronts and was intended to reflect the original flavor of the turn of the century built Main St including stamped metal cornice from a company that has been in business since 1898. I thoroughly enjoy seeing people's response and appreciation to the change. While we were finishing up, almost every day someone would walk up and run their hands over the fluted colums admiring the wood grain.

OU VA office- Wayne Williams
This is the first office that I went to at OU. It is the OU Veteran Affairs office, They are amazing and have helped me through many problems with the transition to OU from the military, financial aid and class scheduling since I have been enrolled at OU. These people are amazing like I said and I just wanted to give them a shout out!!!!
The National Weather Center - Whitney Apperson
This is the National Weather Center, most every person at OU has driven by the building when driving south on Jenkins but most people haven't seen the actual front of the building. I think it is one of the most beautiful buildings on campus. I love how it's modern but still has the red brick like the rest of campus. The whole front is glass so lots of natural light can get in and from the observation deck and west side of the building you get magnificent views of the sunset. You can also see the entire north part of campus from the observation deck. If you haven't been in the building I highly suggest it. Don't let the meteorology majors steal all the gorgeous views! This picture above was taken today. This picture below I took last summer.

Gym - Laurel Lamb
This is a side view of the YMCA gym that I visit several times a week to work out. I picked this particular view because all the exercise equipment is located in a large open area that looks out these floor-to-ceiling windows. I always enjoy looking out the window as I work out, it helps the time go by faster. The windows also let in a lot of natural sunlight, which is nice.
Beaird Lounge -Morgan Thorne
This is Beaird Lounge in the Oklahoma Memorial Union. The union is a great place for people to eat, study and socialize but most of the areas in the union are crowded and hard to relax in. Most of the time Beaird Lounge is quiet and sometimes someone is playing the piano. I think that dark wood, fireplace, and dim lighting help this room to be more relaxing in other rooms. I also think that the furniture also helps this room to be more comfortable. I think that furniture does a lot to make or break a room.
